Livewire Digital Takes Broadcast to the Extreme - NAB 2009 Press Preview

M-Link X and Delay Line showcased at NAB, ideal for broadcasters working in extreme sports and remote locations.

Livewire Digital, the leading provider of remote video transmission solutions, today announces that it will be showcasing M-Link X and the HD Video Delay Line on stand C10250 at NAB 2009. M-Link X, Livewire’s Mac OSX client for the delivery of news and documentary footage, is fully compatible with the Windows M-Link portfolio. Broadcasters now have a choice of Apple or Windows platforms for their field equipment, without compromising video quality or transmission performance. M-Link X delivers “Live” and “Store and Forward” H.264 AVC video across a wide range of transmission mediums including Inmarsat BGAN, 3G and the public Internet.

Visitors to NAB can also see Livewire Digital’s ‘HD Delay Line’ used to capture dramatic events that would otherwise be missed. The HD Delay Line caches several minutes of video and audio in memory until a “trigger” occurs when the system will record the buffered material and subsequent live video to Flash drive. The trigger can be as simple pushing a button or linked to telemetry events. The recorded material can be accessed over an IP network for import into an NLE. The HD delay line has many applications including security and monitoring, has full IP control and can be readily customised.

M-Link X and the HD Delay Line are currently being used, in combination with Livewires custom HD cameras, to capture dramatic events in the Volvo Ocean Race and to relay High Definition material back to audiences around the world.
