Media Desk HD
Media Desk HD is the hub that connects the various elements of the media equipment is installed on the Volvo Ocean Race Yachts. Made of carbon fibre; it is the control centre for an array of HD cameras and microphones and integrates HD video editing, video compression, storage as well as video and data transmission over the satellite.
HD Delay Line
Historic footage from the camera is continuously cached in memory. When activated by a “Crash Event” the video cache is recorded to Flash disk followed by a pre defined number of minutes of live video. Re-triggering extends recording.
The HD Delay Line is designed to operate in conjunction with the Livewire rugged waterproof day/night camera. The combination of camera and HD delay line offers a low power ‘always on’ system.

MIMS is an integrated system for the acquisition of audio and video and the delivery of live and store and forward footage. The product was developed for the Hugo Boss yacht before competing in the Velux 5 Oceans race and is now being developed for use on two new yacht builds.
