The Volvo Ocean Race
Communications specialist, Livewire Digital Ltd has been delivering media from the Volvo Ocean Race yachts since 1997. This is the 5th time that Livewire Digital has been appointed to supply the systems to deliver media from the Volvo Ocean Race yachts. The 2005-2006 Volvo Ocean Race the media management systems were consolidated for the first time into the Media Desk. The 2008-2009 race made the step change to High Definition, a first for sailing events.

Heart of Borneo Expedition
Livewire are pleased to be sponsoring the Heart of Borneo Expedition by providing satellite communications hardware and software to enable live and store & forward video to be sent back from this previously unexplored jungle, including live video sessions with the Natural History Museum. The team have been supplied with a Thrane & Thrane BGAN terminal as well as iSatPhone Pro and Iridium handsets.

Research and Development
Livewire Digital’s in-depth expertise in terrestrial, satellite and wireless communications has resulted in a range of R&D contracts being awarded for software & hardware, technical assessments and studies.
